This research is discussed the available literature relating to the effectiveness of on-board training on job performance and job development of the employees. Out of all the company staff of Nestle PLC in Sri Lanka, sample sizes of 100 company staff were selected using simple random sampling method based on researcher’s judgment. The self-administered, structured questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents in this study. The data analysis is included the univariate analysis, which contains demographics factor analysis, frequency analysis for individual questions, the analysis of Cronbach’s alpha reliability of the factors and descriptive statistical analysis for the factors. The bivariate analysis includes the correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis for hypotheses testing. The researcher recommends that employee with some kind of problem should feel comfortable in reaching his/her supervisor to inform the matters and the entire internal training procedure and the corrective actions should be taken with a minimum wastage of time. Appropriate selection, training and staff development programs should be encouraged. Each employee’s skills, knowledge and abilities should be matched as much as possible to the main factors that can be affecting to the on-board training actions in Nestle PLC. Also a HR training consultant should be appointed, attached to the human resource department for employees, those who are taking on-board training to seek advice in any job training related problems.
