Colorectal Disease is a journal that aims to offer practising clinicians high-quality research that is useful in their everyday working lives caring for patients with lower gastrointestinal diseases.
Colorectal Disease is the official journal of the following learned societies:

European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP)

Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons (MSCRS)

Colorectal Disease is a journal devoted to the clinical problems that are directly relevant to adult (>18 years) patients with intestinal (small bowel, colon, rectum & anus) diseases & the multidisciplinary (surgical, medical, nursing, pathology, radiology, oncology) clinical teams that care for them.
Colorectal Disease publishes original research & reviews regarding the epidemiology & aetiology, diagnosis, classification, management, prognosis and long-term sequelae of lower gastrointestinal tract diseases. It also welcomes submissions relating to aspects of healthcare processes that directly impact patients with lower gastrointestinal diseases such as:
• health service provision / organisation
• health economics
• the conduct of high-quality research
• the training & education of healthcare professionals
Manuscripts relating to sociocultural and political issues as well as wider workforce matters are outside of the scope of Colorectal Disease.
