Die intensive Hinwendung der Latinistik zu den flavischen Epikern rechtfertigt die Vorlage einer neuen, lemmatisierten Konkordanz zu den Argonautica des Gaius Valerius Flaccus Sentinus. Sie ergänzt die Konkordanzen zu den beiden anderen großen Flaviern P. Papinius Statius und Silius Italicus (Alpha – Omega, R. A, Bd. 126 und 102). Textgrundlage ist die Edition von Widu-Wolfgang Ehlers: Gai Valerii Flacci Sentini Balbi Argonauticon libri octo, Stuttgart (Teubner) 1980; berücksichtigt ist ferner die neueste Ausgabe der Argonautica von Gauthier Liberman: Valerius Flaccus Argonautiques, texte établi et traduit par Gauthier Liberman, tome I et II, 2Paris 2003 (Collections des Universités de France). Die Konkordanz soll die ältere, unlemmatisierte von M. Korn und W. A. Slaby ersetzen.
In Form eines KWIC-Index verzeichnet die Konkordanz die Wortformen des Textes, ihrem Stichwort alphabetisch untersortiert, in einem Ausschnitt von ungefähr zwei Versen. Syntaktische und semantische Bezüge sind so deutlich erkennbar. Die alphabetische Sortierung des jeweils nachfolgenden Textes macht sprachliche Formeln und Wortverbindungen leicht auffindbar. Darüber hinaus enthält die Konkordanz zu jedem Lexem dessen absolute und prozentuale Häufigkeit, bezogen auf die Gesamtwortzahl. Beigefügt sind ein allgemeines sowie ein nach Wortarten gegliedertes Frequenzwörterbuch, beide mit knappen statistischen Angaben.
The recent intensive focus on the Flavian epics in Latin studies justifies the publication of a new lemmatised concordance to the Argonautica of Gaius Valerius Flaccus Sentinus. This supplements the concordances to the other great Flavians, P. Papinius Statius and Silius Italicus (Alpha - Omega Ser. A, Vols 126 and 102). The text used is that of the Teubner edition by Widu-Wolfgang Ehlers, Gai Valerii Flacci Sentini Balbi Argonauticon libri octo (Stuttgart, 1980); also taken into account is the most recent edition of the Argonautica by Gauthier Liberman: Valerius Flaccus Argonautiques, texte établi et traduit par Gauthier Liberman, tome I et II, Paris 2003 (Collections des Universités de France). The concordance is intended to replace the older, unlemmatised concordances by M. Korn and W. A. Slaby.
Using the format of a KWIC index the concordance lists the word-forms in the text, sorted alphabetically by keyword, in excerpts of around two lines. Syntactical and semantic connections are thus made clearly recognisable. The alphabetical arrangement of the following text makes it easy to establish linguistic formulae and connections between words. In addition the concordance contains details of the frequency of each lexeme both in absolute terms and as a percentage of the total number of words. Also included are a dictionaries of frequency, one general and one arranged by type of word, each with brief statistical data.
