Über Autor(innen)

Alan Contreras, now retired from a career in higher education oversight, is a writer, editor, and birder. He is the author or editor of several OSU Press books, including Edge of Awe: Experiences of the Malheur-Steens Country (2019), Birds of Oregon: A General Reference (2006), and Afield: Forty Years of Birding the American West (2009). Vjera E. Thompson is a reviewer for the eBird database, was an early volunteer with BirdNotes, and is a local data organizer for the Christmas Bird Count. Nolan M. Clements is a student in wildlife science at Oregon State University; he received the Robinson Ornithology Fellowship in 2021.
