This volume presents the seminal treatise of the important Spanish Muslim mystic, Ibn al-‘Arab?, on Islamic sainthood The Book of the Fabulous Gryphon. Gerald T. Elmore, Ph.D. (1995) in Arabic-Islamic Studies, Yale University, is a postdoctoral research fellow at Yale, where he is engaged in an in-depth study of the works and teachings of Ibn al-‘Arabi. His articles have appeared regularly in academic journals since 1996.
