John Nguyet Erni is Associate Professor of Media andCultural Studies and Coordinator of Graduate Studies in theDepartment of English and Communication, City University of HongKong. He is author of Unstable Frontiers: Technomedicine and theCultural Politics of "Curing" AIDS (1994); editorof a special issue entitled "Becoming (Postcolonial) HongKong" for Cultural Studies (2001); and co-editor, withAckbar Abbas, of Internationalizing Cultural Studies(Blackwell 2004).
Siew Keng Chua is Professor of Communication Studies atthe Auckland University of Technology. Her work in the fields ofAsian media, gender studies, and cultural studies has beenpublished in The Journal of International Communication, JumpCut, and Cinemaya.
