The book covers the fundamental concepts of cellular networks, examines the advancements brought forth by each generation, and discusses new applications and the underpinning wireless technologies promised by 5G. Mahbub Hassan is Full Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, where he heads the Networked Systems and Security research group. He has worked as Visiting Scholar and Professor at Washington University in Saint Louis, Osaka University, and University of Nantes. During 2013-2016, he served as Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE giving lectures on emerging wireless communications technologies to a wide range of audiences throughout the world.
