Polymer Micro and Nanocomposites for High Voltage Insulation: Properties and Applications covers the processing, fabrication, characterization, and resultant properties of polymer micro and nanocomposites for high voltage insulation applications. The book serves as a valuable reference book for researchers, engineers, and R&D professionals interested on polymer materials and nanotechnologies for insulation applications. Chapters address the fundamental, theoretical aspects of polyimides materials used for high voltage insulation, while following chapters discuss the effects of micro and nano inorganic insulation fillers on the mechanical, electrical and thermal insulation properties of polyimide microcomposites and polyimide nanocomposites.

Dielectric strength, behavior of space charge, and high temperature resistance of polyimide reinforced insulation filler are also discussed. Finally, ending chapters focus on the effects of the environment on the material’s insulation properties and review the methods used for the evaluation of insulation of polymer micro and nanocomposite materials.
