Pharmaceutics is one of the most diverse areas in pharmaceutical science, concerned with the scientific and technological aspects of the various drug delivery systems. Advancement in carrier-based drug delivery presents emerging trends in specific drug delivery, including advanced concepts in the design and fabrication of new drug delivery systems and targeting mechanisms. This title includes the influence of drug properties, route of administration, and PK/PD of drugs. The book is structured into four sections, and discusses general considerations in drug delivery, including physiological and biochemical barriers to drug delivery; carrier-based drug delivery systems, including liposomes, niosomes and ethiosomes; drug targeting approaches, including organ-based drug targeting; and regulatory aspects for new drug delivery techniques.
