This textbook will provide a systematic comprehension of the various medically important human parasites; their distribution, habitat, morphology and life cycle, pathogenesis and clinical features, laboratory diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control. The main emphasis is on the protozoan and helminthic diseases, also medical entomology covering vectors relevant to these diseases.

Prof. Dr. Rohela Mahmud is a clinical parasitologist with almost 35 years of experience and Prof. Dr. Yvonne Ai-Lian Lim is a basic scientist with a PhD in Parasitology. Both experienced parasitologists are very passionate about teaching and sharing their knowledge. Dr Amirah Amir is a clinician by training with a PhD in clinical parasitology, who is equally enthusiastic about teaching.
