Markham May (MA, BA, Cert. Ed, MInstLM) has worked for over 25 years as a teacher and senior manager in schools, colleges and Higher Education. He has been Vice Principal and College Director, Head of CPD, Deputy Director at the International Centre for Guidance Studies and an Assistant Headteacher. His curriculum background is in Creative and media studies.

Markham has also worked as head of an awarding body and has been responsible for e-learning with a national institute. As an independent consultant, Markham has worked for many of the national quality improvement organisations including Nord Anglia, Tribal, NCSL, LSN and LSIS. He has been involved in developing skills based learning in vocational programmes, special education and access courses. He also has expertise in curriculum development and pedagogical approaches.

Markham has worked on the National Teaching and Learning Programme since its inception at the Standards Unit of the DFES, working as a regional adviser and regional lead for E2E. He was the National Lead for Creative and media as part of the programme and has recently been involved in writing resources for the Excellence Gateway. These have included Creative and media resources, cross-curricular resources in enterprise, health and safety and customer care.

Markham has been supporting the delivery of the Diploma for the past two years and has just completed producing a teaching resource on working in a TV company for Diploma teachers with GMTV.

Markham studied Drama and Dance at Dartington College. He holds a Cert. Ed, a first degree in Drama and Education and a master's degree in Theatre and Media production from The University of Hull. He is a member of a number of national bodies including the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Institute for Learning and the General Teaching Council.

He has links with the media and TV industry and in his spare time has recently worked as an extra on a number of TV shows. His research interest is the television play and his dissertation subject was the television works of Dennis Potter.

Sue Warr (B Mus, ATCL, Dip Lib, PGCE (FE)) graduated from University College Cardiff, with a B.Mus Honours degree. She is an Associate of Trinity College, London (piano teaching) and has a postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship.

Sue started her working life as an art and music librarian and self-employed musician. She has worked in creative and media education for over 20 years and during that time she was an instrumental teacher and lecturer in performing arts and media. Sue has taught all levels of learners in the further education sector including those with severe learning difficulties, adult returners and the unemployed seeking entry to the music industry.

Sue has specialised in assessment and worked for three of the major awarding bodies examining, moderating and developing new qualifications. She has been a chief moderator and examiner for a number of qualifications, including national diplomas and has trained teachers and moderators across a wide range of programmes in performing arts, media, Key Skills, employability skills and several vocational areas. Her work has entailed writing and editing syllabuses and producing model assignments.

Sue has more recently worked on a number of national improvement programmes as a critical reader and writer. She has written teaching and learning resources for Creative and media and has produced exemplar and supporting materials for the Excellence Gateway which includes CPD activities and learners resources for inclusive learning, employer engagement and health and safety. She is also a writer for national education and media organisations.

Sue is heavily involved in the work related learning agenda and has contributed to the development of Functional Skills and the Creative and media Diploma. She has worked as a consultant for LSN, Nord Anglia and the Specialist School
