She serves as a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and has served on several editorial review boards.

Maria K. Hordinsky is a recipient of a National Research Service Award from the NIH and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. She is on the board of directors of the American Dermatologic Association.
