Regular content includes current topics, articles, correspondence, parliamentary and departmental news, case law reports, summaries of cases, ministerial planning decisions, Local Government Ombudsman reports and a stop-press bulletin.
A special 13th issue, which is published in December each year, contains the papers delivered at the annual Oxford Joint Planning Law Conference.
The Journal will continue to provide expert coverage and discussion of the Localism Act as it is implemented.
The Act makes major reforms to the planning system, including the abolition of regional strategies, and the provision of neighbourhood plans and local development orders. It also makes pre-application consultation compulsory for certain development and makes important changes to planning enforcement and the regulation of nationally significant infrastructure. Linked to the Act is the draft National Planning Policy Framework, which has proved to be particularly controversial as the policies have been perceived by some as unduly favouring development.
