Strategies for an Energy Transition: Planning for a Sustainable Future is a detailed guide to strategic planning and execution for a sustainable energy shift, bringing together a wide range of approaches and topics, from the optimization of renewable energy systems and sustainable fuel production, to the integration of unconventional resources and considerations of the water-energy nexus. The book addresses the need for an integrated approach to green energy planning that considers not only the technological and economic aspects, but also the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, enabling a deeper understanding of the interconnections between different energy systems and the broader implications of energy decisions, and thereby supporting the development of strategies that are both sustainable and equitable. By offering insights into modelling, optimization, and strategic planning within the context of recent advancements and future possibilities, the book equips academics, engineers, industry professionals, and policymakers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of the energy transition.
