The financial sector has a crucial role to play in delivering a sustainable future for the planet. It is critical that the financial services industry allocates capital to the firms, investments, products and activities that will help build a greener future. Green and Sustainable Finance helps finance professionals manage sustainability risks, support their clients and customers and actively play a role in conserving and benefiting the environment. This fully updated third edition is grounded in the principles of nature-based finance which recognize society's reliance on nature and seek to use the instruments of the financial services industry to conserve and benefit the environment. Reflecting the International Sustainability Standard Board's IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures recommendations along with extensive coverage of wider regulatory and market developments, it features material on the rapid growth of sustainable lending and investment and the latest cross-sector alliances and initiatives. Endorsed by the Chartered Banker Institute as the core text for their Certificate in Green and Sustainable Finance, this book is essential reading for finance professionals and students working to embed sustainability in business and finance.
