Information Technology is applicable in all areas of life. As a result, computer science is essential to imagine the modern world. Recent advances in information technology represents only a small part of today’s computing applications which were the subject of international cooperation between Kazakh, Ukrainian and Polish scientists. A wide range of issues and topics is addressed, from game theory to advanced control issues:

- Application of new computational models and their security problems
- The integro-differential game approach
- Application of information technology for automated translation, from inflected languages to sign language
- Mathematical problems of complex systems investigation under uncertainties

Recent advances in information technology is of interest to academics and engineers, and to professionals involved in information technology and its applications.

Waldemar Wójcik was born in Poland, 1949. He is Director of the Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, former long-time dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Lublin University of Technology. Doctor Honoris Causa of five universities in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. He obtained his Ph. D. in 1985 at the Lublin University of Technology, and D. Sc. in 2002 at the National University Lviv Polytechnic, Ukraine. In 2009 he obtained a title of professor granted by the President of Poland. In his research he mainly deals with process control, optoelectronics, digital data analysis and also heat processes or solid state physics. Particular attention is paid to the use optoelectronic technology in the monitoring and diagnostics of thermal processes. He is a member of Optoelectronics Section of the Committee of Electronics and Telecommunications of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Metrology Section of the Committee of Metrology and Scientific Equipment of the Polish Academy of Sciences and many other scientific organisations of Poland as well as Europe and Asia. In total, he has published 53 books, over 400 papers, and authored several patents. He is also a member of the editorial board of numerous international and national scientific and technical journals.
Prof. Jan Sikora (PhD. DSc. Eng.) graduated from Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Electrical Engineering. During 44 years of professional work he has proceeded all grades, including the position of full professor at his alma mater. Since 1998 he has worked for the Institute of Electrical Engineering in Warsaw. In 2008, he has joined Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Faculty in Lublin University of Technology. During 2001-2004 he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at University College London in the prof. S. Arridge’s Group of Optical Tomography. His research interests are focused on numerical methods for electromagnetic field. He is an author of 8 books and more than 180 papers published in the international journals and conferences.
