This book intends to introduce the basic concepts of B cell activation and its latest advances in biological research and disease treatment applications, including the structure and classification of B cell receptors, the process and mechanism of antibody-mediated B cell activation, and tumour immunity and monoclonal antibody therapies. The book is likely to be of interest to university researchers and graduate students in immunology who wish to learn about the core principles, methods and application of B cell activation, and medical practitioners working on tumour immunotherapy.

Wanli Liu is a tenured professor at School of Life Sciences, Institute for Immunology, Center for Life Sciences, Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. in 2005 from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, before beginning postdoctoral training in 2005 at UCSF, USA. He continued his postdoc trainings in 2007 at NIH till 2011. He returned Beijing China in December 2011 for independent studies at Tsinghua University. His lab combines traditional immunological approaches with cutting-edge high resolution high speed live cell and single molecule imaging techniques to investigate molecular mechanisms governing the activation and function of B lymphocytes. He obtained several grants from National Foundation of Natural Science, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and others in China. He has published academic papers in Science, Cell, Nature Communications, PNAS, Cell Research, and other SCI journals as the first or corresponding author.

Yingyue Zeng received her PhD in Biology from Tsinghua University in 2015, and then worked in the School of Life Sciences, Liaoning University. Now she is an associate professor and master's supervisor, and also serves as the head of the Department of Biotechnology. Dr. Zeng is mainly engaged in the research of B cell activation mechanism and the development of novel vaccines, and has a greater research interest in B cell mechanosensing. She obtained several grants from National Foundation of Natural Science and others from Liaoning Province. Her teaching responsibilities encompass Biopharmaceutics and Molecular Biology Experiments across undergraduate and graduate programs.
