Iain Docherty is a Research Fellow in the Department ofUrban Studies at the University of Glasgow and an expert in urbangovernance, particularly the implementation of planning andtransport policies. His previous publications include MakingTracks (1999), which looks at the transport planning system inmajor British cities.
Jon Shaw is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography andEnvironment at the University of Aberdeen. His recent work hasexamined the privatization of British Rail and road building inEngland. He is the author of Competition, Regulation and thePrivatisation of British Rail (2000) and co-editor of AllChange: British Railway Privatisation (2000).
