Aims and Scope
???The European Journal of Anaesthesiology (EJA) publishes original work of high scientific quality in all areas of anaesthesia, intensive care, perioperative medicine, pain medicine, and critical emergency care. Preference is given to clinical studies and laboratory work of clinical relevance. The journal also publishes experimental and technological studies, papers related to education and training, and commissioned narrative reviews. Short scientific reports are encouraged for publication in the journal. Clinical cases will not be considered unless they are exceptional cases with unusual case management. Editorials, commissioned commentaries, and book reviews are also included.
The EJA provides a platform for the worldwide dissemination of research in the field of anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. The journal focuses on pre-clinical, practical, and clinical aspects of care. Our publication output highlights our value in high levels original scientific research and emphasis on recommendations, guidelines, clinical advice, and basic research.
About the Journal?
Launched in 1983, the European Journal of Anaesthesiology is the official Journal of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and all members receive the journal as a benefit of membership. The Journal specialises in expert rapid review and has a specialist review process with all submissions going through triage with our Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief prior to peer-review. Upon acceptance, all submissions are provided additional professional support and are assigned to our expert Language & Technical Editors for the final stage of editorial peer-review. This service is provided free-of-charge to our authors and is unique to the Journal. The Language & Technical Editors are experienced researchers and clinicians who provide added value to published research to improve accuracy, clarity, and understanding.
