The International Student Research Conference (ISRC) 2021 attracted students all over the world to present their works to an interested audience at Zeppelin University. Under this year's theme "Research Jungle", eight participants were chosen to be part of its conference proceedings. Spanning a broad variaty of topics from gender & culture to economics and politics as well as COVID-19 and Digitalization, this anthology aims to capture and preserve the research efforts of students from all over the world.

Krell, Felix
Felix Krell, M.A., studied philosophy and media sociology at the University of Trier until 2019. Since 2020, he is a research fellow at the Chair of Media and Communication Science at Zeppelin University. His work focuses on Co-Presence in New Media environments, more specifically in the context of Livestreaming and Virtual Reality. For his PhD, he is currently conducting an ethnographic enquiry into VRChat, a Social VR platform. He aided in the creation of this year's virtual conference world in Mozilla Hubs by collaborating with students at Zeppelin University.

Söffner, Jan
Jan Söffner holds the chair of cultural theory and cultural analysis at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. After studying German and Italian in Cologne, he worked at the Romance Seminar there, the Center for Literary and Cultural Research (ZfL) in Berlin, the International Center for Advanced Studies Morphomata in Cologne, the ItalianSeminar at the University of Tübingen, and as editor in chief at the academic publisher Wilhelm Fink. He has written monographs on Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron (dissertation, 2005), on the literary theory of embodiment (2014), on metaphor theory (2015), and on George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire (2017).

Geiss, Maya
Maya Geiss studies Corporate Management and Economics at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. Since March 2020, she has been working for the MWK project "Forschendes Lernen 2.0" as a student assistant and has thus helped organize the International Student Research Conference as well as this anthology. To deepen her knowledge on an international level, Maya Geiss spent her 6th semester abroad in the US. There, she had the opportunity to further focus her research on the topic of women in leadership positions

Erdogan, Aynur
Aynur Erdogan studied English Studies and History at Albert Ludwigs Universität Freiburg, Germany. In addition, she successfully completed the university-based teacher training program. In November 2018, she obtained her PhD in Political Science at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, The Netherlands. She then joined Zeppelin University, Germany, as Executive Program Director of Sociology, Politics and Economics and Director of Student Research. She considers educational innovation and student participation as fundamental goals for the improvement of higher education.
