Property Law Perspectives IV contains a selection of the papers presented at the fifth meeting of the Young Property Lawyers Forum (YPLF), which took place at Wadham College, Oxford, in 2014. The YPLF is an informal, international network of property law researchers, which is primarily aimed at junior scholars. The papers presented at the YPLF are representative of the rapid developments currently taking place in property law scholarship, particularly in connection with EU law, environmental law, and internet law. Property Law Perspectives IV shows that attention is still being paid to the roots of property law. The papers in this volume take us on legal and historical journeys, exploring basic principles and well-known concepts of property law, such as the prior tempore rule, expropriation, proprietary security, and the rules on acquisitive and extinctive prescription. Gruyaert, Dorothy
Dorothy Gruyaert studied at the KU Leuven and the University of Stellenbosch. After her graduation in 2011, she started working at the Institute for Property Law of the KU Leuven as a full time teaching assistant and PhD Researcher. Her doctoral thesis is about the exclusivity of ownership and is supervised by prof.dr. V. Sagaert en prof.dr. A.-L. Verbeke.

Ramaekers, Eveline
Eveline Ramaekers currently holds a post as a Career Development Fellow in Law at Wadham College, Oxford. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies (LLB, LLM with distinction) at the European Law School (Maastricht) between 2003-2008. She was awarded a doctorate in European Union property law by Maastricht University in April 2013. Before moving to Oxford she was a visiting lecturer and researcher at the China-EU School of Law (Beijing), the University of Muenster and the South-African Research Chair in Property Law in Stellenbosch. Her research interests include EU property law, comparative property law and private international law. She co-founded the Young Property Lawyers Forum (YPLF), a global network for junior property law researchers, and now co-chairs its Board of Advisors. She has co-edited several volumes of the "Property Law Perspectives book" series in which the papers presented at the YPLF are published.
