S.C. Gupta, Ph.D. in Opto-Electronics (University of Delhi), has been Founder Director and Senior Professor, Northern India Engineering College, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He completed his post-doctoral research from the University of Hull (UK). He is a recipient of several national and international awards for his significant contributions in academia and industry.

His areas of specialization include opto-electronics, optical fiber communication in LAN and links, laser application in biomedical engineering, defense electronics, and broadband optical communication. He has published 71 research papers in internationally reputed journals. He has also authored the book titled Optoelectronic Devices and Systems (published by PHI Learning) and edited six books on Broadband Communication, VLSI, Embedded Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Post-recession Era, and Automation in Manufacturing Technology.
