Kallioniemi, Arto
Arto Kallioniemi Th.D, Professor of Religious Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki. He holds the UNESCO Chair on “Values, Dialogue and Human Rights”. He has published extensively on contextual and comparative studies on religious education and multicultural education. He is currently principal investigator in several research and developmental projects concerning diversity of worldview in education, such as “Cultures and Worldview in Basic Education” and “Diverse Languages and Religions in School”.
Ubani, Martin
Martin Ubani is a Professor of Religious Education at the School of Theology and the School of Applied Science of Education and Teacher Education at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). His research interests include religion and education, spiritual education, RE teacher education and classroom research.
Lam, Imelda Pui-hing
Imelda Pui-hing Lam graduated in 2015 from PhD in Religious Education at Fordham University in New York City. She has been serving as a curriculum developer at the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong for the previous 10 years, writing on textbooks of religious education for Catholic schools in Hong Kong. Twelve levels ranging from K1 to S3 (Age 4-15) were accomplished. Currently working on S4-S6 (Age 16-18), and cope with teacher education in a Catholic college. Research areas: interreligious education, Christianity and Confucianism, curriculum development, teachers’ professional development.
Kuusisto, Arniika
Arniika Kuusisto works at Stockholm University as a Professor in Child and Youth Studies, specializing in Early Childhood Education. Her research interests include individual worldviews, ontologies and value learning trajectories in childhood and youth, especially focusing on the situated meaning-making in the interplay between agency and social environment. She has also studied diversity in ECEC communities and school, worldview education in different levels, and educator professionalism. Kuusisto is a Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Education, University of Oxford, and a Research Director and Docent at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki, with an Academy of Finland funded (2018-2022) research project <i>'Growing up radical? The role of educational institutions in guiding young people's worldview construction'</i>.
Schihalejev, Olga
Dr. Olga Schihalejev is a researcher and a lecturer in the Faculty of Theology at Tartu University, Estonia. She has worked as a teacher of religious education and has written teaching-learning resources for students in Estonia. She is a board member of the Estonian RE Teachers' Association, actively involved in improving the national syllabus for RE and organising annual Conferences for RE teachers in Estonia. She worked on the EC Framework 6 project REDCo (Religion in Education. A contribution to dialogue or a factor of conflict in transforming societies of European Countries). Within the REDCo Project her research was on how religion is perceived by young people in a secular context. Additionally she is interested in the perception of religion and tolerance by different ethnic groups in Estonia. Her current research interest is the study of the competences young teachers of different Subjects have for implemeting values education.
