A children’s Bible is a condensed account of a narrator’s understanding of biblical texts. In this way children’s Bibles can also be seen as models of ability in biblical education. The volume focuses particularly on the necessity of story-telling ability. Children’s Bibles are also understood as exemplary models of narrative thought – of thinking with and through tales and stories, as is characteristic of many biblical texts. Taking children’s Bibles thus as examples of the didactic transformation of theological content, the author looks at the fundamental hermeneutical and theological questions that arise when writing a children’s Bible. The main problems of every conception of a Children’s Bible are thereby generally understood as a learning arena in questions of biblical education.>
